  A certain Understanding
Having a learning disability like me and trying to make more of a sense of the world around always interests me and I enjoy learning new things and skills and new places. I also enjoy learning about either buildings, trees, or history of places.

I also have buildings that I enjoy learning about the history of like Television Centre or the history of my home town Welwyn Garden City.

But one thing still puzzles me is that we as a nation use certain phrases every day to describe how they feel and that can be a sort of slang. One phrase that I never knew the understanding would be the phrase"Fed Up" .

i think we all need to have an understanding of life and the world don't we? And we all keep finding new and exciting things to learn and understand the workings and to explore. I am always finding that I can sometimes find changes either upsetting and nice depending if I feel all right with new and exciting things. I also think that if we all have a disability like we all do, it takes a lot of time to discover and understand things more that happen to us on a daily basis.

The other thing about me is that I always find that I can give everyone else advice but if I try to give myself advice it goes wrong, and because of that fact I have always been dubbed "Fairy Godmother", which has always been hard for me to understand things for myself but things are slowly getting better and I can give myself advice.

Comments:
Hi, Katie! This isn't a comment really, but as I could not find your email address I'll try it this way. I have been reading your blog for about two months now, but never commented on anything because it is impossible to do so without being registered and having my own blog. Now that I have finally made up my mind to have one, I would like to ask you for the permission to put a link to your blog on mine. Would that be OK?

Oooops....Katie I am sorry for posting the same comment three times. I don't have a clue how that happened!

I know what you mean Katie. I don't have any learning disability at all yet, I identify with some of what you are saying in a big way.

I do seem to find changes in my life a bit difficult. Even if I've created these changes. Like joining a scheme to job search and going to college. I find the changes always so hard. My problem is that, i find that everyone around me, all life around me goes too fast. Everyone's in a rush to do stuff and get things done. Not only that, they have to do a huge amount of things in a short time. i can't do that. I can only cope with life if i take things one step at a time. I've always had this feeling that life/people go to fast. I'm fine if I can do things at a slower pace and, take one thing at a time. I've felt just lately that, despite all the good things happening in my life, it's all happening at a fast rate that I'm struggling with. Thankfully today, things are slowing. Oh thank god! lol.

So, yep, I understand totally.

Hi, Katie, Becca here from Ouch.

I'm not going to get all involved but I thought you might like to know:

We say 'fed up' when we mean we've had enough of something (especially a problem or someone behaving badly). I expect it used to mean 'I've had enough' in a LITERAL way, that is, when someone's really eating and has eaten enough, and has sort of moved to mean someone that's had enough of anything.

Hope that helped and didn't make you more confused...

cheers!

There's loads of sayings like that, which usually have pretty old origins.

If you like the origin of words, you're keen on etymology

Knock yourself out...

Why do they call it "Welwyn Garden City", now that's gota be an Oxymoron of ever I heard one.

I really loved the content of your site. Please feel free to visit mine at personal development plan

I'm sorry
