Have switched over to the new blogger, and hopefully it will be good! How are you all? Enjoying the start of the new year? The year has started off being a funny one for me, what with having a dreadful, cold, stomach bug and feeling bad after the Xmas season. Hopefully this year will be good for me, and I have started back at college.

Also hope to update this blog as it needs to be boosted with news of how I am doing and also will have to find new readers somehow or get the old ones back, so if you have a blog, please tell all that you know, that I am back and ready for blog pals at any time.

Hope you all enjoyed my fame on the Ouch podcast too, still have that night imprinted on my brain and I know Xmas is over but it is still good to listen to and a reminder of the night that we all enjoyed those of us who went.

Christmas Message to end this year!

Hi all! Thought I would write a christmas message to end the new year in style!

This year has been a funny one for me, a year of being chosen to be in meetings, to be a secretary and take down the minutes. A year where I have been part of something big and worked in a different place with new people, and learnt new skills. Have had to be more assertive too, and forward thinking in paperwork which I have managed successfully.

Have made new friends and networked just by going to a BBC building and being part of something truly special. Have also learnt that others find it difficult to get along with their own problems and to be thankful that they have the same problems as I do sometimes.

Have impressed certain members of my family by working in a professional capacity and and have made them see sense that I can do things in a mature adult way.

I think that this blog has suffered greatly while I have been busy but I have trawled through other websites and that has stopped me from being here.

I wish more dear readers would stop by and comment here and things to get back to normal and I promise that next year I will make a point of returning to here and showing respect to it by posting things on here.

I think I have walked forward to becoming more mature though and have kept an open mind to pushing on with paperwork.

Facebook, MySpace, Youtube, and other forums have made me interested this year and have become an active member of such websites as mentioned here, and also Master McMillan's fine tavern have kept me enthralled too. Chris McMillan continues to be a good friend as does Ben the young student who joked with me at the Christmas podcast recording and is master Bingosnrub,on Ouch boards. Glad to have him as a new friend on board.

And so dear reader as Christmas approaches, and you look forward to ripping the paper off your presents to see if you have the latest CD/book/DVD and the like, and families get together and you see grandmother or grandfather or your Dad asleep after dinner, or the dog is sick after eating too much turkey, or the cat is sick,

I say to you, Merry Christmas!

Thought I would write on this old faithful blog , miss it sometimes and it is always around to write on and for all of you to comment on. Hopefully you will not have forgotten it or just read it, but if you do read it, please feel free to leave a comment even if it is a small comment bloggers!

Anyhow, Christmas is getting ever nearer and finally I am accepting it is nearer! After having a starange Xmas dinner in May to welcome the return of my dear sister!

Have been working hard and have been working with a charity called Herts Pass which helps disabled people to gain direct payments to fund things like P.A's and other things that they may need and they have acquired some money from the National Big Lottery fund to provide equipment and to employ an Employment Facilitator. I am involved in an Operations Group with some students I know and we had a selection day yesterday to choose an applicant for the facilitator job. It was very exciting and I felt positively good as I helped with the grouo task being in a group with three applicants and a student who is in the operations group with me.

That group task was in the morning and then we had a discussion to collect the annswers that each individual group came up with to talk about problems and barriers that disabled people face in employment.

After lunch we then had the interviews and I was part of the interview panel and gave questions to each individual applicant and they had to give a presentation to which they did well, but some went over the allocated five minutes but that didnt matter.

Finally we came to our conclusions and the best man got the job. We all liked him and he was very friendly, good with involving all of us and we all felt that he had a brilliant rapport with all of us. I am glad for him as I liked and I talked to him firstly when he rang up to ask about the job few weeks back. I cant wait to have him working with us for three years and working at Herts Pass. He'll enjoy it!

Also I have good news too! I have been selected to go in the audience of the Ouch Christmas Podcast! Yay! I cannot wait! I hope it will be good and it will be nice to see some of the messageboarders, and maybe even some of you!

Will report back to you at some stage after wards to tell you how it went but maybe I might not have to! You could probably listen in to it afterwards when Damon puts it up on the website!

I want an Ouch podcast mug though! Would be really nice next to my other Ouch goodies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things I never knew but found out and the Ouch podcast.

In certain places and objects that I come across in my life, I find out things I never knew, and I think we all find out things dont we, us human beings and crips or people with disabilities.

For instance, today I learnt that eating coley, is not just for cats, humans can also eat it which I never knew about, and even if I am watching television I find things that I never knew about before and things start to interest me, and it can take me time to learn, Trust me!

Once I start learning, I find that things become clearer, and that I start enjoying it.

I was surfing the web as I often do, and I found out about a guy who had made the Ouch podcast jingle, and I had never known that before so that was another thing I learned.

I think that people with mild or minor learning disabilities find that it does take them quite a bit of time to learn about things anyway but with the help and support of others it does help a great deal, and the support of family and friends is invaluable, although it is advisable for them not to treat you differently otherwise we wont learn and make good progress, it will be a slow progress instead.

I also am glad that the Ouch podcast is back, getting off the subject for a minute and glad that they decided it was a right thing to broadcast.

Where would we be without it! We who write on Ouch love it and it 's the only thing that keeps me sane sometimes, when things are bad.

Wonder if any of you bloggers are going to be at the Christmas podcast that they are having? I have asked Emma from Ouch to put my name down and have been allowed to go, I can't wait! It will be good and hopefully see Liz and Mat again.

I have met Liz and Mat before on separate occasions but them together will be great and to be part of the podcast too.

Hello bloggers!

Apologies to forget about posting here. I have been very busy and sometimes I have given this blog the push off and have felt guilty of missing it and writing here. I should write more here as when I wrote here, it helped me a lot to get rid of any demons, and this was a place to talk about them.

Most of you enjoy my blog and possibly have missed it.

Well thought I would tell you that I have returned! I am back to share my feelings and opinions with you.

What can I tell you in this blog entry?

I have been doing well in my new house and have been making it feel homely and I feel it is better than my old house. I have put in lots of nice things and it was easy to move as it was a nice day when I moved and I have been enjoying the delights of the village.

Welwyn is a pretty village that is between Stevenage and St Albans and it has lots of character.

I have been doing well at work, and my strength at work seems to be the admin side of it, so Damon, am still around if you need me! Joke!

Also have been actively writing on Ouch as you all may have seen and am chuffed that my thread on the deaf impersonator had so many replies (175!) and thanks to any blogger pals that wrote on it too, you were a star!

I love the new podcast the sixth one and I think it is very friendly and Mat, Liz and the work experience kid Ruth seem to be very friendly as well.

I have also been actively going on my blog and profile on MySpace and have Liz and Tanyalee from Bravetarts as a friend on there and have had messages from them too. Take a look at my page and you'll see them on there.

I may give this address of this blog out to Liz and Tanyalee too, so that they can write here, so if they read about this, hello to them!

Will probably write more about my thoughts and feelings next time so watch this space, I shall be back!

This neglected blog

I am really sorry for neglecting this blog, I have been really busy and for reasons I won't go into, blogging has not worked for me on this blog and on my other on MySpace as only a few people seem to be only reading it and they turn out to be either anonymous or spammers.

Hi Bloggers, Sorry for not updating the blog so soon. It appears that a new blog network has spirited me away and I decided to have two blogs.

The house is going well, and hopefully I should move in a couple of weeks, and the bathroom is looking good , and Dad and the builder are at the stage of wiring the bath to make the spa work.

Winding down after the success of BADD, and networking ...hopefully!

Hello bloggers, Just reading over my comments after my successful blog entry on Monday, and I want to thank those bloggers and many more for all their great comments on it.

Have had a busy week so far after having Bank Holiday as a day of blogging to finish putting my entry in for Goldfish's brilliant cause, and glad I could help her out.

Saturday last week was hectic too, as I went to see "Abnormally Funny People with Simon Minty, Tanyalee Davis, Liz Carr (yes! From the Ouch Podcast!) Gareth Berliner, Chris Causland, Paul Bentley who were all performing and doing their comedy at the Soho theatre in London.

Well after that, tonight I have been looking on the internet and found Simon Minty! Apparently he works for a training and consultancy firm in WGC,, near to where I live as a director that can train businesses and companies on diversity and disability training.

So hopefully, I can find out more and do a bit of networking with them!!!!! And speak to Simon Minty!

Other than that I have been trying to sort out stuff for the new house and waiting to move into it! It's getting there slowly but is taking along time because of our builder sorting the bathroom out but hopefully it should all be ready in four weeks time or nearabouts!

Then I will be writing this blog and posting on Ouch from the new house! That will be great!

I also want to thank you all who said nice comments to me about this blog on the Ouch boards.

It's great to know that my blog is appreciated and people think that I have good views and opinoins on things and in a good way and like Dotandcarryone said to me on her comment, I always talk about the basics which I agree wholeheartedly with.

I may not say or write things in a sensible order sometimes , but I know what I mean and hope you all understand what I am trying to get across with my opinions.

My thoughts and views on Disablism

Hi Bloggers, and hope you all are having a great Blogging Aaginst Disablism Day today. I thought that I would base my contribution to Goldfish's worthy cause by telling you all what I think should happen in the future, so think on it if you will as a small manifesto, as if I was Minister for the Disabled instead of Maria Eagle! (sorry to her for using her name but it's only meant as a joke!)

Here is what I think:

Disabled people should be allowed more access on public transport, it's getting better for disabled people, but we need more access to services, shops etc.

I believe that there should be no categorising between the social model and the medical models of disability.

Lesser known Charities that raise awareness of disability should be given more publicity and a chance to show themselves more to society, namely H.A.D that I work for as it is widely known where I live in Hertfordshire but I think it should be known elsewhere too.

Society should be more educated in not judging us because we are different or staring but integrating us more into society.

Understanding myself

I thought I would write this post bloggers for reasons to do with disablism, as I have put my name down for Goldfish's brilliant cause and also that I feel I have to explain about me as people can be confused as to why I am silly sometimes.

Basically, it's not that I am silly it's just that sometimes I may not know I am writing or saying things that can offend people.

People with learning disabilities like myself are viewed as people that need help in knowing things about life or that we don't always understand about what we are doing is viewed wrongly, and sometimes things go wrong or we get people talking to us as if we were children.

I have the same options or views as everyone else of disability, it's just that it may not put in the right way or order or confusing.

I sometimes can be matter of fact with what I write and that also confuses readers who may be reading it at the time.

I also have ambitions that people may find strange or that they think it's unrealistic. I did think though that as I keep reading the Ouch website as I always do, and you all know I do and admire it, I feel that I am like them in the way that they write about inclusion and I sympathise with them, as I find it to be included in conversations or debates because people take the view that I wouldn't understand what they are saying or writing, but I can certainly read up on it or ask.
I sometimes wish though , that the writers on Ouch could ask me about my views and that I work with them to do some advocacy to do with our views and opinions.

I'm sure that Damon, Vaughan, Mat Fraser, Liz carr and the others have opinions on things that would be great to talk about all together.

As I put down here above, people with learning disabilities find inclusion hard because of people's views or opinions of them.

I mean, One of my ideas which I thought would be good but people would think was silly was to set up an advocacy group with the messageboarders who live in London or areas, and include the writers like damon, Liz, Mat, etc.

People would think it's a silly idea though and think she's ( me) having her mad ideas again!

What's your take on what I have said here?

Hi bloggers, The post this time is about my thoughts and feelings concerning a celebrity who I have slated in the past but after reading my Heat magazine, Methinks I have changed my mind.

It's also regarding disability too, as due to Goldfish's brilliant post on her blog about Blogging against Disablism day, I too am supporting the brilliant cause, so well done Goldfish!

My post today is about how I feel about Jordan and her disabled little boy Harvey. As I was reading I felt for her emotinally and how looking after Harvey can be a strain on both her and Peter Andre's relationship.

It said in the article how Harvey can be very hard to look after and told of his tantrums and about how she has to watch him a lot.

I am not a parent of a child myself but by reading Jordan's article in Heat, having a disabled child must be hard but glad that he gets the love and care he deserves.

Poor Jordan deserves a medal, and a hoilday away from the pressure!

I also think that we should make comments about her as we should think how hard it must be for her, but lots of determination to give Harvey a chance in life.

What do you lot think?

A Fantasy island that's suffering!

Hi Bloggers, As you may know or not, I joined an MSN Group and that was partly the reason why this blog suffered because I was spending time there. The MSN group is called Hood's Island and I may have mentioned it before here but now our poor group is suffering because of lack of membership. Chris Mac first told me of this group he had set up and it is a great group but because of lack of membership it's suffering.

There is no reason why it should suffer because it is a friendly virtual island where members can share things like poems, stories or have chats about their day or put up messages for other members to read. There's even a well stocked virtual bar called the jolly Seafarer which I frequent as I came up with the idea (I've always fancied running my own bar as well!) , but the sole reason why I am telling you dear sweet bloggers about it on here, is because I wondered if any of you would like to come to a virtual paradise where you chat, drink and sink your toes into warm sands (all virtually of course, you can use your imagination!) and dive into cool seas.

So, does any of that sound good to you, being friendly , and be welcomed by nice members?

Hi bloggers, Don't be worried by this post and it's not a form of patronisation, but thought I would say what I think about what this man does as i think the work he does is geat but I would never patronise or single anyone out to call them by any way, shape or form.

The man in question that I'm talking about here is Ouch's editor Mr Damon Rose. We all find Ouch a great place to chill out and relax and be friendly with each other in (well at least I hope we do!) but I think the work that Damon and the team do to get our lovely favourite website and messageboard up and running is simply marvellous and very brilliant.

Don't know if you lot have heard the podcast yet, if you haven't where have you been? You've missed a classic piece of broadcasting history there! If you haven't heard it yet it's presented by Mr Mat" I wrote and produced a brilliant musical" Fraser and Ouch columnist Liz Carr. Together they present the podcast show which incidently has been produced by Damon, and if you listen carefully you may hear snippets that might been put in by Damon himself knowing his humour and sarcasm!

Things like the way that they have come up with the most funniest quiz I've ever heard called "Vegetable, Vegetable or Vegetable", I mean! What a mad name for a quiz! They must have taken it from their cartoon strip on Play and some of the Jingles are classicall funny, but I think that the line " We never let our disabilities get us down" must have come from Blindkiss, Damon's other talk show. Quite funnily enough then to know then, that Damon produced the Ouch podcast and it was his idea in the first place! No, seriously it's a great podcast and I hope it does well for them.

I've written on this blog before about when I met Damon and it was nice to meet someone whose website I liked, and meeting him was like meeting someone I had known for a while because it felt like that. It was also the first time I had met someone with a visual impairment too but when I left White City after that eventful day and from being totally nervous even though Damon had said he couldn't tell I was, my face was literally beaming!

Hope it happens again sometime that I meet up with him again... Hmmm!

A Brilliant Animation Company and a sincere apology!

Hello to all Bloggers, I know that I've not done this blog for ages and all of you have been wondering why you can't comment on the blog but worked out that it goes onto a special page. I would like to apologise to all readers of this blog as I know that you all read it and give me such nice comments too.

I have been extremely busy over the past weeks as I have been staying with Dad while everything gets put in place at the new house. Everything is going well, and hopefully it will be sorted out enough for me to move in. The worst part is the packing as I never realised that with me hoarding stuff in cupboards or around the house I am left with lots of stuff! Luckily I am sorting it out and it will be all cleared out soon! I hope! It's a long process because of me getting tired and my mind telling me that the old house is nasty and getting homesick for being back at Dad's! Strangely enough!

I have also been watching quite a lot of Dvd's at Dad's too which I have my little portable DVD player to play them on which was one of my birthday presents! Thanks to my lovely Dad and I thought I would tell you about one of my favourites which is the BFG , acrtoon animation film made by a great animation company Cosgrove Hall.

For those who don't know, Cosgrove Hall is an animation compny in Chorlton cum Hardy in England and they make animation films such as Dangermouse, Chorlton and the Wheelies, Coun t Duckula and the BFG. What makes the BFG special to me however is the beautiful, fantastic music!!!!! This music that is in the BFG is so brilliant, in the way that the music sets the mood for whatever the characters are doing in the film and the music blends in well .

All the music is brilliant throughout this film and the two songs that they have in it are good too, Whizzpopping, and Sometimes Secretly. I think my favourite part with the excellent music has to be when the two characters Sophie and the BFG are blowing a dream (well, the BFG is!) into the bedroom of the Queen of England to ask her to help them catch evil giants. The way that they have used the music to great effect in that piece is so brilliant and it captures the essence of the part well.

You'll have to watch that part of the film and the rest to find out what makes me like the music so much. Even when the credits roll, they combine the excellent music well, and it brings a tear down my eyes and sends a tingle to my spine with excitement!!!!!!!

If anyone can find me the soundtrack to the animation of this film, write me a comment or email me as I think that will be great to have the excellent music on CD.

A show of all shows, Lonely feelings and apologies

Hello bloggers, hope you are all well. Firstly I think I should apologise for the lack of posting on this ere blog. I haven't had anythin to write about due to the fact that I have really busy as I have been looking after my Dad's house, having my friends to stay with me while I am there whih I still am now.

I have been lonely at the start of this year what with Valentine's Dady just finished and from being single makes you feel isolated too. Also it made me have feelings of resentment because of everything that happened with my ex boyfriend and the anger and pain and upest that he caused me had left me feeling alone in this world.

I feel sometimes that men are only attracted to me because I care about them and that I help them with their problems and itcan be hard for me to find partners because of feelings of insecurity. There is however one person I like but that would only be for the futureto have a proper relationship or is that I only like them because I care about them? I don't know the answer to that question.

The two best things about looking after Dad's house was first having my birthday and getting a cool personal DVD player that I can take anywhere, The second best thing was that I went to see a great show. This show was so great that I am still listening to the songs on the CD that I bought afterwards.

The show was Thalidomide! A Musical, and was produced by the brillaint Mat Fraser and starred him and Kate Winslet's sister Anna who I thought was great as well as Mat himself.

The story told of what happene when a Nazi doctor produced these drugs that women could take for the morning sicknes and how babies were being born with limb defects such as short limbs and deformities to which Mat has short arms and seal like hands as a result.

The play then goes on from this to show a love story between Glyn a thalidomide boy getting bullied at school and Katie an able bodied girl who takes a shine to Glyn but wants to help him not love him and the show centres on their relationship through secondary school and tjhen Glyn and Katie go their separate ways ending up seeing each other again when Glyn pretends to be a scientist working in Brazil called Raolo Raccino who helps make people perfect again. An accident occurs to Katie when Glyn accidently knocks her over by his car in San Paolo and she has short arms like Glyn as a result and they adopt a baby with short arms as well and get married.

The show had some great music in it which I love and Mat is a great performer and great too in real life. The best thing about the show was that as I watched it I think he looked in my direction and smiled at me! Hope he did!

Hello Bloggers, Hope you all are enjoying the start of the new year, Apparently you all have been reading this blog and not leaving coments because of changes or being scared to. I am here to assure you that all is fine and that you can leave comments on the blog as normal. basically when it says about comments being moderated that just means that I will check comments to make sure there isn't spam or anything bad but I know you lot are fine and that I trust you lot fully.

So don't be afraid dear bloggers, you may still leve comments and messages for yours truly here! LOL!

The year started good for me, being back into the swing of things such as work and collegewhich was good as I missed all my friends there, I also started the year nicely by having a new friend to talk to on the telephoe which is my internet friend Chris McMillan and that was great because he is a nice person, and something very exciting but nerveracking as I don't know if I am doing it yet, I have to think hard on it.

The exciting but nerveracking thing started off way back when I was upset in my house in Wilkins Grove and I sarted telling Dad how much I hated the place where I live, and he said he would look for somewhere else for me to live, weeks passed through Christmas and new Year and dad eventually phoned me yesterday to say that a house near him had come on the market, and that I could see it and then think about it in more detail.

Went to see it today and it looks a pretty house inside and out except for the crap furniture and fittings the lady has in it!, but if I lived there I could change it. It's a house where the kitchen and living room are upstairs and the bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs, and there is a courtyard style garden at the front.with a gate and stairs leading up to the gate.

It sounds a nice house but I haven't thought much about it yet. Suppose I'll finish now, and think shall I bloggers?

Just a quick post as I have neglected my blog really bad but will be better next year. Hope all of you have a great new year!

Have you all made any new year's resolutions? Will you stick to any of them, I find it hard sticking to them but I will stick to them next year- Wonderful 2006!

Groan! I shall be another year older and coming of age! Silly phrase that! If you look on my profile it will give you a hint as to how old I will be after the age it says on it!

But here for you now are my new year's resolutions:

a) To cook more fresh meals at my house using more stuff from Tesco's like packet sauces.

b) To think more positively about things

Hello bloggers! festive greetings to all of you and hope that you are all enjoying the festive season, Yay! Only one day to go till Christmas day! I bet most of you are looking forward to it, spending time with your families and enjoying spending time with them!

Hope you lot have a great time.

I am writing this at Dad's as I have finished work for the Christmas holidays and I am glad that I left happy and enjoyed spending time with my work colleagues at a local pub near where I live. I felt really good and it was nice to spend time chatting and having a laugh with people who I only see when I work, and it made me feel part of a family unit too, because of our workplace being a small part of a building where there is different companies, who all deal in helping people in some way. We are dealing with disability while the rest are dealing with sensory difficulties, hearing difficulties, Children and families.

Our building used to be a school too, and it's remarkable to think that different organisations are in that old school.

Have any of you or are working where you feel part of it like I have felt? It's great that work colleagues all go out together where we aren't in a work situation, as I felt I got to know them better more than just speaking to them a bit at work.

I'm going to end this now but hope you all have a great time with your families, and that you enjoy it loads and hope that you all enjoy your presents that you get.

Hi bloggers, Sorry not posting for ages on here as I have been catching up with college work but I promise that in the new year I will back refreshed and ready to post stuff on here. I also haven't had any ideas on what what to write about so it has been difficult for me.

Hope you bloggers are looking forward to your Christmas break and will be looking forward to a prosperous new year too.

Highlights of this year for me have been that I have found wonderful and lasting friendships both from Ouch and Hood's Island in which my new friend Chris Mac has invited me to join and that I have been given the role of assistant manager in. And finding Chris Mac as a friend has been brilliant and writing to you lot has also given me lots of confidence too.

Another highlight was finding the website of blogs that helped me create this ere blog to record my feelings, favourite things and news for you all. I think that finding all of your blogs too has been a good highlight because through reading yours I have found out about what you lot like and your opinions on things.

Hope that in the new year I will poised and ready than before with news and ideas to write on here as I've neglaected it a lot and that has worried me a lot.

These bloogers are the immortal words of one of the greatest showmen, and a talented jazz musician ever to tread the boards on Broadway! His name is Al Jolson, and by listening to my CD of the musicial that tells his story, I am beginning to understand more about someone I had never heard of before, and because it is a musicial and you know my love of the stage, I am enjoying it greatly.

By listening to the songs on the Cd you get to find out more about him and the people he worked with and who he got songs from like Gershwin, and also others who he knew like Ruby Keeler who he sung with that was a true Broadway doll, and then to have lost his mother at a time when he was starting out must have been hard for him like I did, so he wrote her a song which is a famous song called "My Mammy" .

It's a sahme I didn't go to watch Brian Conley in this musical as it would have been good to find out more about Al Jolson, but this musical captures all the magic of this great showman just by listening to the music that comes from the actors and actresses who perform it brilliantly.

Hi Bloggers, Before I start this post, I thank you for your comments on the last post I did here and it was great to hear how that you cared a lot for me to say positive things and I am now feeling better in myself. It's not often I feel like that but you lot helped me to think better about myself.

This post is about something which I have another passion for which is reading, and it's about a man that impressed me as a child and who had a great way of making children believe in his stories that he wrote and told to his own children and all the children in the world loved all his funny quirky tales he wrote. Can you guess who I'm on about?

YOU CAN'T?

The answer is simple!

The man who I'm on about is Roald Dahl! You probably have read or seen his books around and even watched some of the films made to celabrate the books. I have always had a passion for reading his books and still do now I'm an adult. His books and films are a great testament to a man who loved writing, and loved to be wiith children and understood their ways, their passions, and interests, and also to have the children be a captive audience for the books he wrote, and he wrote them with his own children in mind and told them the stories and then he would always go down to his writing hut, and write them down to be in print for ever.

I love his stories and they realy do have a certain magic about them. I went and bought the film of Charlie and the Chocolate factory today and the film is great and tells the story as it is in the book with fantastic special effects, great characters from the book, that are madly brought to life by the great kids who play them with freakish enthuasiasm! Johnny Depp who plays Willy Wonka is also highly funny and is very freaky too, with sarcasm and gusto. The Oompa Loompas are played by only one person too which brings a great way of using special effects to make one person seem like lots. I recommend this film as I loved it and thought it told the story very well, and also adding extra parts like Wonka's childhood and seeing his father again after a long time. I loved the kids in this film especially the German boy who played Augustus Gloop and the way he pigged out on the chocolate. I also liked this line from the film: Chewing Gum is gross, Chewing Gum is what I hate the most!

Roald Dahl was a great man and his books and the films are a testament to his genius, Where he lived in England in a place called Great Missenden, in Buckinghamshire(not too far from where I live) is his house where he and his family lived and the house is called Gipsy House, which people are allowed to visit and there's also a museum celbrating his life and work too.

I would love to visit this house and gardens and the museum, because I think all the magic of his books and films are in the spirit of Great Missenden itself and Roald Dahl's spirit lives on.

Hi Bloggers, Sorry I haven't written for a few days, I have been feeling not myself and as I told my counsellor I felt very alone in myself and felt bad but am slowly feeling better. You are probably wondering about this title here. It's because I have been feeling that I am going nowhere in achieving my goal of working for Ouch and this is what my Outreach worker Ela keeps telling me every time I tell her I want to work there. She thinks that I wouldn't be able to travel to London each time and that I would be tired after work.

Nothing is impossible in this world and I might find it tiring but there are ways around it. I know I keep going on about this that I would like to work there but it's a place that I would find great to work in.

There are loads of questions and my head is confused with stuff at the moment so I don't know what I think.

Questions like:

Why don't they let me try working there?

Why do I only get few comments on here, do people find my blog boring and they are fed up with me on Ouch and here. ( I know most aren't fed up with me but some are!)

Why do I keep feeling bad and people are not wishing to be friends with me, I'm not all bad!

It's probably because people are making me upset and my loneliness contributes to me feeling awful every day.

Sorry if I feel self indulgent and self pitying, I always like this, it's only sometimes!

You lot are great and you lot are my true mates better than my real friends sometimes! Especially lovely Chris, 'm sorry you have to read about me feeling bad honey, but you make me feel better, and wish I could reward you in some small way to say how much you have helped me to get over things and make me a better person within myself.

Update on Last post

Hello bloggers, Glad to know you liked my last post, reflecting on my childhood memories, I thought I would update you on things.

Firstly, I will put up a link to lovely Chris Mac's blog when he has written blog posts and will certainly tell you lot about it so you can go and say hi to him on there. Don't know about it being on Ouch's blogroll but leave it to me, I might swing it with Damon to get it on there for him!

Secondly, My Christmas will be different this year by Dad and I going to my aunt's house for dinner but we don't know about my sister Sophie's plans yet as she might be with her boyfriend at their house in Caversham, Reading. My sister Lou will still be on her trip so we know about her.

Secondly, In April, when my sister comes back from her trip, it will be Christmas 2!! We are planning to have a Christmas for her when she returns from her trip, and it will be a proper Christmas with our tradition of being on the big bad, with a Christmas tree and nibbles and a Xmas dinner. I persuaded Dad last night to give all three of us proper presents too, not just small presents he was going to do! Well it wouldn't be proper would it!

Yay! Two Xmas's!

I am excited about it! And yesterday Dad bought my birthday present too, of a personal DVD player!

Reflecting on Memories Past

Hi bloggers, Am in a reflective mood again as my mate Chris Mac told me about his new blog he was thinking up and he said he would fill it with childhood memories amongst other things.

This set me off thinking about some of my own childhood memories and as you know that my mum is no longer around but in spirit, and me and my sisters have grown up slightly, we all tend to think about our childhood memories don't we and Chris the darling reminded me of all of mine.

I have quite a lot of brilliant memories that me and my family were involved in and it's good remembering them. Some people have told me to forget things that have happened in the past, but my counsellor said that by doing that I would lose bits of me that are important as my past was very precious to me, and mum is living in the past somewhere.

I will share some of those memories with you, if I may, and it will help to eleviate my feelings.

Every Sunday, we had a cold tea, and loved sitting down in our warm kitchen watching Antiques Roadshow together, Dad had his tea as always in his Tv room and Mum and my sisters and I would watch TV in the kitchen.

Every Christmas, we all did our family tradition of getting up early around 8, and going to Mum and Dad's big bed and opening up all our presents together and the cats would come and sit with us on the bed.We would then get dressed and showered and then play with our presents while Mum did Xmas dinner and my aunt Sue would come around for dinner with all of us. We still do the tradition now but just us four do it, It feels strange with Mum sometimes but I never forget how good it was with all of us.

Most of all my memories are either going on holidays or at home, or something that happened somewhere. I have a lot so it's hard to write most down, but these are just two that were special times to me and my family.

I suppose you have childhood memories don't you? They are the things we never forget and you shouldn't have to forget your past just because you are told to by someone, as your past is part of what makes you as a person.

I have had trouble in the past and now telling about how I feel and sometimes I can be misunderstood by people which can lead to them getting cross or by them shouting and all it is is that I am trying to sort out something in my mind from the past that has made me upset or just thinking about things.

Chris has helped me in a way to just be a great person and I thank him for believing in me like he does.

Overture

I thought I would share with you all my blogger pals one of my passions, as this one is a huge passion of mine.

Imagine it, you have the music, the script, all your cast in their positions, ready to act, and suddenly from behind the curtain you arise to the stage hitting out with the first stage number!

Yes, you've guessed it bloggers! My passion is theatre and a passion for the stage!

I have been interested in the theatre ever since I was little and today I got something through the post- the long awaited Jolson The Musical Cd with Brian Conley through the post!

And it brought my passion back to life with it's rousing songs and lovely music, but even though I had just listened to the music, I quickly picked up most of the tune's lyrics within one second of hearing it! Odd, isn't it!

I suppose the person who got me interested in performing and theatre was my nan. When I was little, she used to be a theatre director in an army base and she also had a ballet school to which I attended and was excellent at dancing and acting.

I still love acting and performing even though I don't do much of it now, but I adore singing to my CD's I have of musicals and theatre based stuff.

A Reflective Mood In The Week

Sorry I haven't posted on here for a few days as a lot has happened and lots of observations!

Last week started off good but felt bad againbut was perked up by writing on Cane and able. I am starting to enjoy Ouch as through writing on the Cane and Able messageboard I had found a true friend in Chris Mac! Bless him! He has helped me to feel better and every time I got upset last week he told me not to get too upset and explained things to me whenever I didn't understand why certain posters were saying things, so that's one thing I will praise Damon, Lord Ouch for, for finding me the true mate who is adorable.

Chris Mac also invited me to his MSN group called Hood's Island so that's the reason why I haven't posted much on Ouch, as I have been there talking to him and hopping back to Ouch when I want to.

I then had a strange dream about the messageboarders and you may have read my thread about it on Cane and Able at the weekend.

Next I observed a programme that got me both angry a bit and upset for. The programme that made me get y back up was the Arena programme where people from the BBC were discussing the documentary they made of the famous interview with Princess Diana on Panorama.

As I was listening to them talking about how they made it, it got me upset and angry about how people seem to talk about her in the media all the time and that they should leave her in peace now she has gone sadly from this world. When I was doing my focus group for Macintyre Care, her memorial fund helped out by giving us money to survive. As we were working and trying to set up all our workbooks, the fund ran in to trouble from everything that was going on with her and all the fund freezed so all Diana's charities couldn't get money from the fund. I don't know what went on as it's long winded.

Our launch party for our workbooks was held in the fund's offices itself and it was great to be in a place that cared a lot for her memory. I got very emotional when I was there as it was very awe inspiring to be in a place and you could sense her feelings around the room and it's upsetting for me to hear all the horrible stories that appear in newspapers and TV nowadays. I wish they would leave her memory alone in peace.

There was a lot of posters in the corridors that told about her and in one corner was a huge book that was excellent. You could sense her around the offices and I did!

Charities with people who have learning difficulties were one of Diana's passions and she would have very interested and would have enjoyed our launch party!

The case of the confusion over clocks and the disappointment over a CD..amongst other things!

Hi everyone, Firstly aplogies for the long title! as Chris Mac said to me in his Ouch messages on the boards he said i should do more writing so thought I would come up with a snappy title!

Hope you all are well despite all your bad illnesses I keep reading about on most of your posts on your blogs namely get wel greetingsgo out to Goldfish, Damon, and Timmargh, You all desrve a get well greeting from me and you are all lovely!

How did all of you dowhen the clocks had to go back an hour on Sunday morning about 2pm in the morning? I got very confused about it as I often do and confused by the fact that the BBC homepage gave the wrong time out, it said that the clocks were going back at 1am, but the continuity annoucer gave it out that the clocks were going back at 2am!

Imagine my confusion over it! So I phoned up BBC and they said that 2am was indeed the correct time for changing the clocks back for an hour.

I had a massive disappointment on Saturday though when I had reserved a CD of Jolson the Musical from MVC about two weeks ago , and they called me to say my order had been cancelled by head office! Aargh! Another 13.99 wasted then! Oh well, looks like I will have to ask my sister Sophie to get it for Christmas off a website called Footlights.com and I wanted it badly!

As you might of read on the Cane and Able board, I am into listening to everything that Brian Conley has done in the way of singing stuff! I have three CD's of his and my favourite which you know I have is his Stage to Stage CD with songs from musicals on it.

Things have been okay this week for me though and the highlight was visiting Caversham to see my sister and her boyfriend's new house. Dad and I got there about 3pm and dad helped Mark with DIY jobs that needed doing. I quite liked Caversham and Sophie lives near the river and it's only a few feet away from her house. We all then went for a nice pub meal in a pub called "The Griffin" which was nice and Dad and I enjoyed visiting Sophie a lot.

Next week, it's back to the routine for me though as I have college on Weds and Thurs, and normal work on Fridays.

Half Term was great and relaxing but it will be nice to get back to college, It's strange they put half term in the end of September though, as we have only started back at college for a few weeks back! Strange!

A Seminar and friends who always seem to need my help!

hi everybody, hope all is well with you lot, and sorry I haven't written here for a few days. It's the same thing, that I have been busy! Which seems to happen all the time doesn't it with me, but I always make time to chat to you lot and write on the Ouch messageboards.

This week I have been busy with two things, One being a seminar on Tuesday and chatiing to someone new that I made friends with, and then going out for a socialable chat with my college mate Lee. who has joined the boards like us so you may just spot him on there!

The seminar was great and was held in the building of Scope in London. The seminar was held by the Transition Information network for which I am a member of.

We had a great day and did workshops on housing, direct payments, and the Government's ideas for the Green paper they're bringing out for people with learning difficulties and the problems they need to address like ideas on how to change boroughs so they can provide more leisure facilities for young people with learning difficulties to do.

I also picked up freebies of leaflets and a great CD Rom which tells about Scope's Time to get Equal campaign, and tells of what people can do to sign the pledge and I think that you lot should sign it as it's a great campaign to rise awareness of disabled people.

It also gives you information about the great work that they do, But while I was at the charity I met Margie Woodward who does a lot of good work for the charity and was featured talking about the Spazz wheelchair with my hero on Radio 4's You and Yours programme and it was nice to bump into her when I was in the lift and put a name to her face!

Secondly it was nice to meet Chris Mac and get emails from him as I enjoy talking to him and others on the messageboard and Chris Mac is a great person.

I have also been helping out another mate as I said earlier, my mate Lee. Lee's nice as well and I have helped him out and still do, and it's nice to talk to him and to listen to his problems. I suppose you must do that when your mates are with you and you listen to their problems and even help them out.

It's special too because in Lee I have made him come out of a shell that he seems to be in and even made him better in himself when I gave him advice.

I don't know why but men always ask me for my advice and I seem to have lots of male friends than females, of course I have female friends like you female bloggers but I always get males that want to be a mate to me and get advice and tell me their problems.

I always were a fairy godmother to most males in my old college, maybe it's time to reprise that role again!

Hi Bloggers, I wanted to share with you my comments about Beyond Boundaries.

First of all I am truly loving the series because of two reasons, the first being that all of the members who took part in this gruelling trek are bloody fantastic and should be proud of all acheiving something to conquer their worries and upsets over doing the trek and challenging their disabilities and abilities.

Second what really bugs me is some of the comments that seem to happen on the Beyond Boundaries Board on Ouch and it upsets me by the way that people are slating and saying nasty comments about the members which then starts to cause flame wars again. Even Wizard of Ouch stepped in and told them not to but they still did it.As you lot aren't to blame, I am not saying anything bad about you, I'm just worried about the new people in case they start to misuse the boards and break the house rules.

I have been on two expeditions myself even though not in Nicaragua, and I found it tough because I had to keep on striving to get my Duke of Edinburgh's award, and I have difficulty in walking like the Beyond Boundaries lot so know how they feel.

Also I really care about people with disabilities and am truly amazed and heartened by the true grit and dtermination these people on Beyond Boundaries have by carrying on even though it's hard and they feel hurt and sore by their disability.

They should all be glad that they have achieved so much and they didn't want to stop even though they lost Warren and Glenn who went back home to England.

A sense of Feeling Better within myself!

Sorry if I have been neglecting this blog for a couple of weeks. I suddenly start to find that I am busy and then my poor blog suffers and also I find that I don't know what to write and it seems from reading most of your blogs you have that problem and you seem to think that you write lots of nonsense.

I think we all have ideas like that but all your blogs are great. Anyway part of the reason why I haven't been doing this blog is because of me being on Ouch's weblog that I haven't been doing this blog, but even by doing that I feel I haven't contributed much! I normally am always the one who seeks out most disability issues and stories so I don't know what's going there!

Anyway, the reason for writing this post now, is because I wanted to share with you something that may have been found out that I never knew before.

I went for an appointment to see a lady about my teeth, Now I've been having problems with my teeth and having problems as led to have bad problems with my gums. It's not by any means my fault it's something that has happened. When I start to do my teeth, my poor gums bleed and hurt so that has stopped me from doing them because mentally it has given me warning signs. I found out that all this has also contributed to all the fears, and worries and upset that I had been going to see my counsellor about.

All my problems with hospitals and things happening as a child had mucked me up within my head and that's also things you don't see with me if you meet me or talk to me on the Ouch messageboards.

Think of it as a side that you never see, largely because I can mess up my words and say something different.

I also came up with two visualisations of myself when I saw my counsellor on Monday and that also helped to say how I felt.

I will tell you them so you can see what I was telling them about.

Outside of me The outside of me is a hollow shell that you can do anything to and can talk to easily, The outside shell is a coper and a mature adult. The outside also gets on with life happily and can be a good caring, friendly person.

Inside of Me- The inside is a childish being, that has seen lots of things, and has had all the things done to it like the hurt and the pain, is always upset, feels scared, and finds doing things painful and doesn't want to do them. It has had lots of operations on it, It has fragile bones and the mild osteoporosis(which I have!) .

I think all these visualisations must stem from all the problems I had at birth but allow me to tell you them on another post, as there's quite a few problems that happened!

I hopeI'm not being too self concious to you on this post as this is all how I felt and our blogs should be a place where we can say how we feel.

As you might have already read on the Ouch website, yours truly has been made a guest blogger with other bloggers, namely her ladyship Lady Bracknell!

I'm very honoured and proud that Ouch has chosen me for it, even togh they might have picked me because I said that I would be obliged when they put about it on the weblog a few days ago!

I'm going to have to find some great blog entries, aren't I but am sure that I will be able to!

Remembering Classic Gameshows and a bin!

As I look after my dad's house, I like to watch his satellite TV and see all the delights of Sky+ like damon was talking about in his weblog because he has had it installed recently. one channel I find great on Digital has to be a gameshow channel called Challenge. It's where they show lots of classic and new gameshows and I like watching all the contestants answering the questions and cringing when they know the answer but can't say it!

My favourites on Challenge have to be Takeshi's castle which is a wierd Japanese game show where contestants do games to storm a castle at the end, and they are funny people who do it and always end up failing half the games. The other one I like is my old favourite Knightmare(on the odd occasion when they show it!) but my favourite classic has to be 3-2-1 the classic gameshow that Ted Rogers used to present and do a wierd hand gesture with his fingers to symbolise the show. How did he do it though is beyond me as it is hard to do(I've tried it and failed!), It also featured the strange but lovable mascot of a bin named Dusty Bin. Bloggers of of the era may remember it!

They also had clues for the end game and the other night while watching it brougjht memories back to me.

I wish they made gameshows like that still, as they were classics and am sure they are sadly missed by all of us, aren't they? I think Challenge brings them back to a new generation of Tv watchers that might have missed them.

A clever machine and feeling bad.

I went food shopping as normal at Tesco because I had been feeling bad all day and feeling down. Going to Tesco made me feel good because I was out doing something, when I was in there, I saw something which I am going to ask for Christmas and hope that I get it!

I might not have told you before that I have a collection of kitchen gadgets. I collect a lot of stuff and am a bit of a hoarder! Anyway, I collect kitchen gadgets and to compensate for giving most of my other gadgets away and be rid of them,I have seen a clever machine that I like the look of in Tesco's which is the Tassimo machine.

If you haven't heard of it before the Tassimo Machine is a clever machine that makes hot drinks and this sort of machine is all the rage now in homes. The Tassimo Machine works easily by putting small T-Discs in the top like those cartons you get in restaurants and the machine reads off the barcode on the disc to make you the perfect cup of drink.

So basically all you do is to choose your T Disc, then press the black button and the machine will read the barcode to make your drink.

How cool is the Tassimo machine! I'm seriously wanting one and every time I pop into Tesco's I dream of it!

I was trawling through different blogs last night and I saw a knife block in a wierd shape of a plastic man with knives sticking out of his stomach. The blogger who had the photo also put a link up to the website where it came from called iwantoneofthose.com. I had heard of that site before but never visited it, so I clicked on the link to look and immediately found all the stuff that they sell there to be excellent!

the website if you haven't visited it before is full of things that you can buy that do quirky, and fun products that you don't need but really want, as it's quote on it says!

I came up with a wish list from it as I thought that it would be great to have something from it, and as my birthday is coming up, you can feel free to buy me something from my wishlist!!!

A certain Understanding

Having a learning disability like me and trying to make more of a sense of the world around always interests me and I enjoy learning new things and skills and new places. I also enjoy learning about either buildings, trees, or history of places.

I also have buildings that I enjoy learning about the history of like Television Centre or the history of my home town Welwyn Garden City.

But one thing still puzzles me is that we as a nation use certain phrases every day to describe how they feel and that can be a sort of slang. One phrase that I never knew the understanding would be the phrase"Fed Up" .

i think we all need to have an understanding of life and the world don't we? And we all keep finding new and exciting things to learn and understand the workings and to explore. I am always finding that I can sometimes find changes either upsetting and nice depending if I feel all right with new and exciting things. I also think that if we all have a disability like we all do, it takes a lot of time to discover and understand things more that happen to us on a daily basis.

The other thing about me is that I always find that I can give everyone else advice but if I try to give myself advice it goes wrong, and because of that fact I have always been dubbed "Fairy Godmother", which has always been hard for me to understand things for myself but things are slowly getting better and I can give myself advice.

Hi Bloggers, Sorry I haven't posted on here for a while, I have been extremely busy what with college starting again and trying to get back into a routine where I get up early for it, I missed the Confident Cook session on Thursday though as I got up late( oops!) but left a message to apologise and say why I didn't come in, so took myself off to London for a look around in my favourite haunts. ( mostly alll different shops which I find fun, but you lot will think I'm potty for going in to!).

So mostly my week is like this:

Mondays- Spare Time in Morning, Counselling 3pm Afternoon
Tuesdays- Day Off
Wednesdays- Community Access 9.30-12.00, Computers Skills For Living 2 12.30- 3
Thursdays- Confident Cook 9.30- 3.00
Fridays- Work at Herts Action on Disability 10.00- 2.30

Now you lot know more about what I get up to in the week! I wonder what you lot do? Is your week structured like mine in the fact that you do lots of things?

Also I came up with another blog last week, after having the idea from Ouch's Cane and Able board, so that when it shuts at night you lot who frequent the Ouch messageboards could join in on my blog!

I have called the blog"The Self Advocacy Group Pub" and it's a pub and self advoacy group all in one and it's where you lot can come in and talk about disability issues that matter to you and have a virtual drink at the same time! Just like the Cane and Able board on Ouch!

A brilliant new CD and my lovely home town!

As you may know from reading my blog yesterday, I was watching ITV's 50th Birthday Bash "Avenue of the Stars. I found the programme really great and so did you lot judging by the comments on Ouch's Cane and Able board.

Well today I went and bought the CD that celebrates 50 great ITV theme tunes that have made us entertained by watching the programmes that are on the CD for 50 years.

Programme Themes that are on the CD are great and there's all different ones from programmes such as Minder, Taggart, London's Burning, Tales of the Unexpected, Ruth Rendell and lots of others that are great too.

I recommend this CD to you blogpals if you're interested in TV themes like I am.

Also you might have noticed if you read your blogs that when I comment to you there's a small picture of Welwyn Garden City. If you've ever wondered what the town looks like here on my profile picture are two of the town's great places to sit and look at the view, namely the fountain and in the background you see our famous shopping mall, the Howard Centre, which is a great place to shop and they're both situated on a road called Parkway.

The town was built by Sir Ebenezer Howard and was the second Garden City, the other being Letchworth.

My home town is great and what makes it good is the large amount of history that's connected with it.

If you come from London, the first thing you see coming on the train is the Shredded Whaet Factory which is a Grade Two Listed Building and is where Shreddies and other cereals are made. Unfortunately for us, they're closing it in 2007 and all workers there will lose their jobs.

I think if you lot have the chance to yopu should come and visit the town, You never know I might show you around places!

A Sincere Apology

Hi Blogpals, I would like to say sorry for the dredful irony and sarcasm and also taking the piss that the last post caused!!

It was probably that I was having an off day and all the comments made in the post came out and if you lot thought it was silly, then I apologise for it!

I am feeling better today and went out for doing some food shopping that cheered me up and even Sunday viewing on television cheered me up too.

Did anyone see the ITV anniversary programme "Avenue of the Stars" I thought it was abrilliant show celebrating the achievements of most household names including Tommy Cooper, Lord Attenborough, Ant and Dec, all people who have entertained us during ITV's 50 years of broadcasting. I did think the avenue of stars was a nice gesture and it also celebrated the work of people who are no longer with us, such as Harry Secombe, John Thaw, and Les Dawson.

Even the host Chris Tarrant was put in the avenue of stars!

I can't wait to go out and buy the CD of the theme tunes tomorrow as I like theme tune CD's and have quite a few of CD's with famous tunes on it and tomorrow's CD I'm buying will be no exception to others that I have.

The Mad Happenings of Me

Woke up this morning to find myself feeling very tired as normal but found I felt strange in the tummy. I think that I probably was feeling tired from the week what with being back at college to find it had all changed and had been painted with new accessible bits all around the college campus(Thank god for that, Someone had listened to Student Reps!) of to which I was a former student rep!

But when I went back to college I started to feel like I was in rush and the time I spent in college was going quickly. That's probably what happens when you only do three courses and two of them are on the same day!

I was probably feeling like I had eaten too much with the strange happening in the stomach but that was probably down to the week too.

The best things about the week was seeing my college mates again and getting emails from my lovely sister Lou who's out on the eight month trip, and also probably the best thing which is always good is blogging and commenting on your blogs!

You'll probably read this blog and wonder why I'm writing this piece of nonsense but that's how I felt wto the start of this weekend! Tired and couldn't get up so slept half of the day. Probaly like normal then!

One good thing that also happened this week was the fact of an old friend who used to live with me in Briar Patch which was a supported accomdation where I lived had emailed me and I haven't seen this person for ages.

The person's name is Leon and Leon started this band up with two mates who went to college with him. Anyway I found the band who incidently are called My Pet Junkie's website and secretly wrote on their forum.

You might have heard of them, they're a indie band but their music is quite varied, and it's good. My mate Leon is the drummer in the band and it was good to email him after all this time.

One day if he's free I hope to meet up with him to catch up and see how he is.

That's another mad happening, I'm not into that sort of music but I like his band's music!

Hope you lot are well, and you are all working hard. Thanks for the questions on the last post even though some were very strange, I tried to answer all of them , Love Wayne's questions about biting my toenails, I'm embarrassingly saying that I do bite them, cringe! And I like the one where he says about buying shoes, I haven't bought a pair for ages, and my sisters help me buy that sort of thing.

I wish I could buy that sort of thing but hoping to get financial support in college this term to help buy stuff like that. I'm fearful of telling Dad because he always gets on my nerves about money and all I have to live with is 70 pounds out of my post office card account.

Ho hum, At least I cope and I'm happy with stuff! I need a man in my life I think to make me strong and caring!

When Teachers Do Something Excellent!

Hi Blogpals! i thought that I would base this post on a thread given by a messageboarder on the Ouch Cane and Able messageboard. In the discussion thread this person made was about favourite teacher or teachers. I talked about a lady in that thread who had been my favourite teacher and that she had taught me drama in the school in Hertfordshire where I used to go to which was called Woolgrove.

Anyway, the teacher's name was Mrs Tutt and listening to BBC Radio 4's You and Yours I heard her talking on there discussing about the lack of haed teachers.

What surprised me is that when I looked further into the internet and searched for her name, I found lots of articles written about by her and that she is now a doctor of Education and that she has an OBE to her name. How cool is that blogpals, to find out that my favourite teacher is making a name for herself in the NAHT (National Association Of Head Teachers)which I know she always was but to find out she was made an OBE is fantastic!

And to think that when I was 11 this lady was an ordinary teacher teaching drama and writing all the plays I appeared in, and telling me I was a proper little actress too, and me being her star performer!!!!!

A Strange Dream List

2. I wish for a nice man to care about me as I hate being single!
3. I wish I could have a luxurious trip to a hotel in a limo with champagne.
4. I wish I could work for Damon!
5. I wish that some of you blogpals could meet me! (Oh well it will happen one day I suppose, Can't wait if it does!)

A Strange Day

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well and that you have been working hard this week in your jobs.

Today has been a strange day for me as I started off work by getting in late( oops, I know I overslept!) so I went in to work and carried on as normal doing the paperwork as I always do.

While I was at work there was a lady from America who had worked with us before but she works in America as a Self Advocate Leader in an Outreach team. They do brilliant work there and the lady who was called Ann Blackburn gave me some leaflets. Anyone who lives in America like Gimpy Mumpy might have heard of that company before. Mumpy do you know it? I hope she does, The company named SAAL is an organisation that works for disabled Americans giving them freedom of self advocacy and disability rights.

Anyway all the leaflets Ann gave me were interesting and the website looked interesting too which I looked on. I will probably give to you soon if you lot are intterested.

After work Ela my Transition worker phoned me up and this is where the strange bit comes as she wanted me to get my CV ready as she has found me a different work place. I dam a bit apprehensive about it as I love working at H.A.D and would miss all my friends there, and also I think I would find having two jobs hard. I will do the CV but these thoughts are in my mind still.

H.A.D has taught me a lot while I've been working there, It's taught me to understand more about disablity rights and basically the most important thing is to do with being more adult to work in a fully paid job.

Anyone who has a disability and works will agree with me and any others will too. Having a job is necessary for all adults to earn money, and if you have a job which I know most of you do, It gives you an enormous amount of satisfaction and you need a job to earn a living. I feel more of an adult when I've been working at the disabilty charity and I reckon I have become more mature too, and I have been able to work problems outr in the job easily too.

Finally, I know that most of you blogpals have been recieving a lot of unwanted spam in your comments boxes, The easy way to make sure this doesn't happen is to turn on "word verification" in your Settings and Comments bit of your blogs. As you can see down in my comments box I have turned it on. Hopefully this will stop it happening.

A dedication of Friendship

I feel particularly humbled today! And it's because of a load of reasons, One is that it was my counselling session today and that Denice my counsellor said that I was good at giving myself a sense of inner counselling which helps enormously and that I am intelligent at answering why I want to kneep the past in my mind, the reason being is because of my Mum.
The other reason I feel humbled is because of you lot who visit my blog and that talk to me either through this blog or the excellent Ouch messageboard( when there's no silly flame wars!) but I believe that all the flame wars are coming to an end and that we can breathe a sigh of relief.
So I want this post on my blog to be a roll of honour to you all who like my blog, so I am putting down your names as a dedication.

Has the world gone completely mad?

Hi bloggers, Am a bit upset today and feeling low for two reasons and I know some of you who regularly post on Ouch meaning you blogpals will bloody agree with me!

One reason is that I am totally upset at these so called flame wars that ruin the nice happy existence of our Ouch messageboards. I know it's not you blogpals that do it who go on these boards every time because you lot are great, this doesn't include you lovely Wayne as you havn't signed up for them!

You lot are better than the people who do it and the perpatraitors who carry on should be told off for their callious actions.

The second reason is that I am also upset because of my sister leaving to go on a eigght month trip half way around the world. I got an email from her so I feel much better and I also feel better because my other sister said that she would take me to the Ivy, for my birthday next year.

Loneliness is also a huge factor in my life people again as I keep thinking about you lot and wishing that you lot were near to where I live. It's also because I haven't had many friends in my life and I think of you lot as my friends.

Hello blogpals!

I think I have been a bit distant from writing on this blog haven't I?

I haven't had anything much to write about after the excitement from the holiday and then putting myself up on Ouch's brilliant messageboard and getting one of their cool screensavers which I chose the straplines one because I thought it looked cool.

I have been busy though at work and playing on Ouch, but still reading and commenting on your blogs. I have even found new bloggers too, by reading messages left by Wayne and Justin R and other new people, so thanks to you lot for introducing yourselves and your blogs if you have them!

I've also just got better from feeling low but I am now better again, and hopefully I will return with news of a work placement, birthdays(Mine,groan!) as I will be celebrating a coming of age birthday which I am not looking forward to, I'm not saying which one but if you look at my age on my profile you'll guess it easily!

As you can tell from reading my threads on the Ouch messageboards I have been very conversational though and I think I seem to spend my time there a lot and I feel sorry for neglecting this poor old blog as it is good, but I think most of you have to sometimes and once you try something new on your computers like the messageboards it is hard to revert back to something old.Do you feel the same as me, comment here if you do!

"I can't believe it"

Hi bloggers, don't worry, I am not quoting the catchphrase from One Foot in the Grave, even though that has to be one of my favourite comedies!!

Basically, it's a way of saying that I can't believe I have nothing to say about my world, Oh god, I can hear all you lot groaning and your mouths open but it's true.

After the excitement about being on the Ouch messageboard in the last few days and trying to get back to normal after my holiday, I feel that I have been rather confused which I told my counszellor about, it's very long so won't tell you but it's like being in a pot with all your thoughts being stirred around!
( A mad way of putting there but I have an overactive imagination!)

The best things I suppose is the Ouch screensaver I installed of their straplines and then commenting about things on the cool messageboard. You lot probably have worked out now that I have done so, and it's good to see that you lot are highly conversational on a number of issues!

But dear bloggers, I am bored and I was wondering what makes you lot bored like me, thinking caps on and share your boredom!

Things that make me bored are:

Waiting for news on the BBC Extend scheme so I can see if Lord Damon of Ouch has a work placement I could go on.

When it gets extremely quiet in my house.

Boring Conversations in my family.

Feeling depressed because I am bored!

Strange ideas and an arm that kills!

Thought that I would add an extra post to the one I made about my glorious holiday.
Have been feeling very stiff after yesterday due to the fact that Dad stupidly made me pull my huge suitcase behind me,then noticing and then giving me his to pull, but my arm has felt bloody stiff, which normally happens when I carry heavy stuff, well you expect it don't you with the bad muscle tone I have.

Also I haven't fully recovered from the holiday and have also felt wierd being back in the pleasure of my own surroundings of my house. Strange thoughts wandered into my mind as I was waiting for Dad to take me to his for lunch, and decided I could do it but don't know how, you techinical bloggers will probably know how, The idea is xsimply that I came up with the idea of hosting my own fanatic tribute website devoted to Mik Scarlet- my one and only hero,I probably can hear Turtle/Nic now, for saying"Groan" but want to show my respect as I have done for the past 15 years(I@ve watched him since the mid 80's!)

Do any of you know how to make a website up? Is it easy and do I have to pay? I want to make a website from a free page though! It's probably a strange idea but am sure that Nic would make one if she had the means to on one of her fav music stars.

Hi Bloggers! Hola! I am now back from my glorious holiday in the sun or not so glorious sun as halfway through the two weeks it had to rain and give Majorca huge thunder and lightning!

The scenery was beautiful and the villa we stayed in was brilliant and lovely. We being- Dad, my sister Lou and I all enjoyed being together in it and doing our usual thing of staying around the villa and it's pool in the day and then going out for a meal in Puerto Pollensa which is on the northern tip of Majorca. Puerto Pollensa is a beautiful town with lots of things to do like bars, cafes and restaurants.

We also went out sometimes to explore the island and we went to some nice places where we saw some different things, The places we went to were a glass factory where me and Lou bought some gorgeous glassware, Inca market but the best place we visited had me in tears and I was struck by how beautiful it was, basically we went to the Caves of Ham, and these caves are the most beautiful ever!
Inside the caves when you reach it are some huge stalligmites which have formed some beautiful sculptures and in old times, it was all discovered by a proffessor of geometry( I think, anyway!)and he found the caves over 300 years ago.
You go around these caves and see the stalligmites set to some lovely sound efeects and special lighting whichy lights them up and they all have names like the forest of Angels and such like. The best part though is when you are 30 feet below the ground, they turn out the lights in the caves and they have a beautiful concert in a lake with the name" Sea of Venice Lake".
A small boat is lit up with lights with three musicians inside it, and they turn to face you in the darkness and they play two pieces of classical music( it's almost like a water ballet, but different) and it was this concert that brought me to tears.

But going on holiday made me miss Ouch a bit and I missed the new homepage, but found an internet cafe to look at it, and the other thing I missed was that Mik Scarlet was on You and Yours, Damm!!! I will listen to it soon! Very soon!
Hope you all were okay and didn't miss me but I bet you did! Incidently, I found I had a wierd comment made from someone who thought that he could write about something completely different entirely! You lot are better than him!

A strange Weekend

Hi Bloggers, Have had rather a strange weekend this week!

It all started when I saw my friend Charlotte in town. I know she can't help having a bad illness which affects the way that she is sometimes, but this weekend she started acting strangely by the way she acted but I don't know if it was the illness or just down to being a hyperactive teenager. I mean you don't expect a 19 yr old to go into a pub and start pouring milk, sugar,salt and pepper into an ashtray do you?, and then start to stay out late in town all night while you're staying at a friend's house(mine!) do you?

Maybe it's probably the fact that I don't understand the illness, which I think it is but when she gets hyperactive and behaves irrationally, It gets me down because I know that I am mature enough to behave properly.
I don't know what to do in those circumstances, on one hand I want to be her friend and help her out, but should I accept that she has an illness and is like any other teenager.

Hi Bloggers, Sorry I haven't posted for a few days, after I posted about pain, I thought I would leave it for a few days to let you all post comments, Did you all read your messages from me? I have been not feeling well over the week and feeling low about Mum's anniversary of her birthday which was on Sunday and that has made me feel low, even today at work I felt bad.

But it started over me being told where things were and people telling me different things about where they were. So it confused me and I got frustrated. Hayley the girl who I was helping didn't give me clear instructions and I was upset so I went home early.
People know at work that I find it hard understanding things but they should realise to give me clear instructions.
Anyway, came home early and saw my mate Charlotte in town.

Have also been watching a cool DVD I bought yesterday, anyone remember the BOX of Delights? Finished watching it tonight, the titles are great and the special effects are excellent.
If you don't know the story, here's a taster:

There was a boy called Kay Harker who goes to visit his guardian for the Christmas Holidays, Once off the train he sees a Punch and Judy man called Cole Hawlings, who entrusts him with a special magic box, to look after as Cole is being pursued by wolves and some baddies one being called Abner Brown.

I would tell you what happens but sorry, you'll have to buy it for yourself to find out what happens,the title of this post also appears in the story, it's part of the box's magic that Cole tells Kay what the box does,

"Turn the knob to the right you will go small,
Turn the knob to the left you will go swift"

I regularly go on the internet and look at all your blogs,They are all great!
And through reading all of your blogs they give me an insight into what you're interested in doing in your spare time, the problems you have, and the jobs you do.

Trawling through them, I noticed a recent post from Turtle on her blog about her being in pain, I totally agree with her and most of you who experience it because I feel in pain too.

I feel it in different ways,and they are that I feel :

Emotional Pain:Trying to cope with the loss of Mum but with the help of a counsellor.

Physical pain:When my body hurts from the inside and my muscles are bad.

Feeling Lonely in my own house but I think to myself I have to cope with it
( that's why I am always on my computer at nights! Ha! Ha!)

There are many forms of pain bloggers but Like I told Turtle or Nic to say her proper name, you have to carry on with things you love doing in this life, it may be hardto think rationally about things and every time I see my counsellor I find it hard but you are the person who can make the pain disappear. I also nhave pain from being confused and single but that's another post entirely.

My advice to Turtle is that I hope she takes my comment on board and she realises that we are all there for her, She sounds like a nice girl, Oh Heck All of you sound nice. If there was a way we all could meet up I reckon we would be brilliant and enjoy each other's company!
That would cheer Turtle up too! Now some small messages for you all, look out for yours!

Hi bloggers, Hope you are all well, and didn't find the last post offensive or discriminative because I was mainly saying what a terrific Radio show it was. I am not someone who would be horrible or discriminating because of my work at the disability charity.

Anyway, you are probably wondering where the title of this post comes from( or you've guessed which meant you are a genius!).
It comes from one of my favourite shows as a child which was Knightmare and these were two catchphrases that Treguard, the dungeon master and a dungeoneer would say in each programme.
I loved the way that children would be chosen to go around this castle( but like all TV magic, it was done with a blue room) but we never knew did we, because we didn't understand that trickery.
There were many shows I used to like but this one always meant that it would be the start of the weekend( every Friday night) and I could sit watching it before my dad would be home and we would have our usual fish and chips meal.
I also had three of the books too and used to write the spells down too, I have also visited the website www.knightmare.com and it's brill.

I was wondering if you liked the show and what else did you watch? Also if anyone knows where I can write to the man himself, Hugo Myatt- Treguard, you can tell me.

Talk about everything happening at once!
It turns out Ela's email was all down to perception but earlier before I had been talking to a charity worker from Amnesty International about it, When I go in the You and Yours website and listen to today's post(Thurs) they are all talking about.. yes you've guessed it perception and the use of language relating about a wheelchair that comes from America and is called Spazz, and in the programme they have a man from the company talking about why they called it that, Steve Day, Mik Scarlet(!) and a lady from Scope, talking about the two sides of the argument whether they think the word is offensive or if they think it is a word that disabled people should reclaim for themselves.

Now you all see that I think today was a day when I would have all these things happen at once and me being a bit of an advocate for disabled people, (I think I am a bit,working for a disability charity like I do!)
I would help out with this particular issue.

Incidently I phoned the You and Yours line up and gave my comments to them about the programme. It's a pity I didn't listen to it and phone up while Mik was on, he and the others including Peter White would have found my comments useful and excellent

Terror Attack and a strange way of the world.

I hope all who lives in London is okay after the scares that we had today.
It was really shocking to watch on television, I have been watching all the events unfolding,which gmade me a bit scared and worried. I could not believe that the terrorists could strike us again by planting what the reporters were calling"dummy nail bombs" which were fake explosives but gave off nasty smells and small explosions.
Even though this has happened in London, I think that we should not be beaten by them and show them we can get back to some state of reality.

On a happier note bloggers I recieved an email from my Transition Worker Ela replying to the email I sent her and thought I would share it with you lot as I find it very strange to think that we could be how she perceives we are in life.
This is what she perceives us as:

Great Friendly People can be shy you know? We are all like eggs- hard shell on the outside and a soft gooey yolk on the inside, life makes our shells harder and some eggs get overboiled and become hard on the inside too.

What do you reckon to Ela's perception of us in life? She told me it would give me some thought for the day, I think she's right there about us!

Hi Bloggers, I am sorry I haven't posted for a short while, In this strange world of ours I have found it hard to find good ideas and issues for me to write about, but I think I have done well so far judging by your cool comments and opinions, and sometimes you lovely lot have found the answers for me that I never knew, and you have also given me new found friendships all with the use of just a computer keyboard and a little mouse thing!
So thanks to you bloggers, you all are Great.

Anyway, this post was thought out as I was in my transition worker's job shop and the task we were set by her was to write down all our strengths and weaknesses relating to work and in general.

I wrote down mine and here are a few of mine:

STRENGTHS

I am good at keeping friendships.
I am good with writing and reading tasks.
I am good at being creative.
I can work on my own initiative.
I can work in a team or on my own.
I can be supportive and sympathetic to the needs of others.
Friendly, caring, confident.

WEAKNESSES

I find it difficult working under pressure but try hard to overcome it.
If I am given a task such as dealing with large documentation I have to take my time and use a different way to overcome it.( that's fine in a job though, because an employer would like the way I overcome tasks!)

I can sometimes find household tasks tiring

Hope all you bloggers are fine in your lives. I thought that I would ask for your help as don't know how to overcome it.

The problem is this: Sometimes I leave the house which is ok until I look into my handbag and I find that I have left the keys in the house on the peg in the kitchen!

And for the thousandth time as well, and me being an emotional person it makes me mad and what's worse is that I keep doing it. Other people do it but not loads of times!
I could ask my neighbour who has a spare key and doesn't mind giving it to me but I always am embarrassed to ask her, or I could ask Dad but that's worse, or my Auntie Sue, but wanting to be the independent person that I try to be, I want to look after my key myself but always ends up locking my self out.

How could I try to make sure I have my keys with me?

Suggestions welcome please, blog pals.

Incidently, if Damon is reading this how does he remember to take his keys?

Hi Bloggers, You may have been wondering why I haven't posted on here for a while, i have been busy this week with having to go to York for my sister's graduation ceremony, and going sightseeing like any other tourist!

Things do happen don't they, when you go on trips and they certainly happened to me in all of the three days that I was away, and I will tell you now that I had a rollercoaster of emotions, a confused mind and some comfort from my lovely sister.

It all happened because yesterday I was feeling bad again and I had a bit of an argument with Lou because we were sharing a room in her university campus and I had to walk in didn't I? We made up though and carried on enjoying the town. Things were going well until we had come off the York boat from the river and we wanted to go back home by cab. We found a cab office called Streamline Taxis and I wanted to get a packet of Polos from their vending machine, but then I started to panic and couldn't find my purse. I had left it on the boat! Lou phoned the boat company and we carried on going home to get ready for going out for tea in a restaurant to celebrate her graduation.

that was the confused mind bit but the comfort bit was in the night when we were going to bed, Lou and I talked about things because we both realised that we had both suffered feeling depressed about things. We both chatted during the night and we both were in tears. I felt for her as she told me things and realised I felt bad too.
One of the best things about the trip was seeing her friends and being with them last night was great. One of them also graduated yesterday and was very funny when we all met up in the pub after tea.

I told him about this weblog and he said he would read it, but then he said that I would probably mention him in so I have done, here you are AL, thanks for being a good friend and for confiding in my sister your feelings.That's if he's reading this, that is. Oh and I am now something of a legend according to him!

I am a bit worried today and I have no idea why, so thought that I would ask all you bloggers to set my mind at rest for me.
It probably all started yesterday when I nearly put my foot in it with Chris and Carrie saying I was confused about things to do with our friendship and their relationship, I know everything is fine with all three of us but I reckon it's me that can misread people all the time, It has something to do with my development I suppose,for when I was growing up I missed out because of my pertruatry gland being messed up at birth.

What I was worried about were this:

Do you bloggers find my blog boring and that I have strange views of the world and current affairs so you don't read this blog?

A Terrible Attack On The Innocent

I thought I would base my post today on the terrifying attacks in London,
I like many today was shocked and disamayed by the dreadful way that someone planted bombs and blew up many parts of a lively, active city which I like to visit and go to many shops and places around. It was heartbreaking for me to see the streets being caught in a whirlwind of bomb blasts.

I first heard about it when my sister Sophie called from her work in Germany to ask if I was on one of my legendary trips to London, I said no and asked why, then she told me to put the TV on, and it was then I saw it.

What really shocked me was the devastation I saw when people told of their accounts of being in the underground when the bombs went off.

I hope they catch whoever did such a terrifying act and bring them to justice. London is a lovely bustling city with many like the tourists who visit the old parts that we can get back to normal and put this out of our minds to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic bid.

Have you ever visited somewhere where you used to live and been emotional about it?
That's what happened to me today, when I went for lunch at my Auntie's house in Codicote near where my Dad lives, and wanted to go for a walk after lunch to see the village and see the places I used to go when my family lived there. Anyway, went for a walk around Codicote looking at the places and as I was walking around I felt sad about it because there were all the places I visited when I was little like the big recreation ground behind the Costcutter, and the lovely barn house I liked in Farrier's Close, and the gorgeous little newsagent's caled"The Red House" which is where Farrier's Close is near. It all brought back memories to me as I walked through the village.

If you had lived somewhere and you went back to it, you know how I feel. But the emotional memory which came back to me had to be seeing our lovely old house where we lived!

It looked so sad standing there with it's lovely courtyard and yellow rose peeking out over the courtyard wall looking sad. I also from where I was standing see the window where my bedroom was, but for a minute, I stood there and dreamed that all of us in the family were back there, having fun and being together, and the best part but made me sad, was the fact I dremed Mum was alive again enjoying the house as she always had it.

That was probably what made me upset visiting the place again, but still I thought of the good memories.

Am in a strange mood tonight.I sorted out all Dad's post as I am looking after his house,( without opening them of course as that would be rude and his mail is private!) but as I was sorting out his mail, a strange brown envelope showed itself addressed to me, from my old college.

I immediately thought why were they writing to me, I don't go there anymore, but opened it and saw an invitation to a tenth birthday celebration of where I used to live, a supported housing scheme called Briar Patch in Letchworth. I wondered about this invite for ages and whether I should go or not.
This is what I want you to help out with bloggers, Do I go and risk seeing two ex friends and my first ex boyfriend and heads turning from them, and see people who were nice, or do I say no thank you to them and I won't be able to go? Aaargh!

What should I do bloggers, go and risk seeing who I hate or not go at all? Help me out please, what would you do in my situation?

I went back to Stevenage town after seeing Chris and this girl, and started to cry. Chris had twigged all day what I was feeling and we had a talk about it. I told him that it felt strange to see him with Carrie.He had known that that was worrying me as I started to think of all the funny things me and Chris had done.
He talked to me in town and being the nicest person he is said it doesn't change how I feel about him.
He also said I was like a sister to him and family comes first for him, and that I am understanding more than people think and that I see people who are close to me rather than people who are far away.
I still love him and hope one day that he will think about me being even more than friends but as a boyfriend.
Special people are hard to come by bloggers, but when you find them keep them close to your heart.

A strange thing happened to me today. I went to see my friend Chris and saw his girlfriend Carrie, it was quite strange to see them together but got used to it.
It was good to be introduced to her and I made a new friend out of it. Hopefully everything will turn out fine with it though.

I've just been watching the programme on Channel 4 just now called "The Strangest Village in Britain.
It was a very thought provoking programme as it showed a bunch of villagers who all have learning disabilities who live in a village called Botton with their co workers and their families.

The programme showed the villagers in their daily lives and working together in groups around the village itself.
I watched it with interest as I have a learning disability myself, but thankfully a mild form of it, but I could symapathise with the villagers but was shocked to see some of the disputes that went on as they were working, and they seemed to have a vague misconception of others but because of their difficulties that was to be accepted, but it was great to see them being integrated with others. People with learning difficulties and disabilities are often viewed by non disabled people in society as different and they can't understand and they are quick to judge their misconceptions on us disabled types. I think integration helps people like the ones shown in the film and others such as us Ouch readers and bloggers, not forgetting Damon, Mik Scarlet and all the disabled people around the world.
As Mik said in one of his columns: "That's one up for us"

Weblog Surprises!

Trawling through the blogs of Ouch readers is great and you get to meet all of them and hear about their lives and all your blogs are great.

Imagine my surprise then as I was trawling through one of your blogs and happened to see a blog called"Wherever you are" and it sounded really good so I clicked my mouse over the name
and got into the blog.
I then wondered who had made it. I scrolled down the end of the webpage and found it had been done by Vaughan Simons.
This left me in fits of laughter because I thought that I knew him and it was a shock!
It was him! I could not believe that Damon's colleague had written a blog for himself and it made me laugh because I sent him a message asking if it was really him. Aargh! I feel shocked, but his website is cool with cool photos and other snippets of strange things.
Sorry, that is embarrassing, and Vaughan is great, I feel guilty for laughing now!

Seeing my Town Differently!

I had a strange thought enter my mind today and wanted to share it with
you bloggers.Feel free to leave comments about it.

Basically, as I was going around my lovely town Welwyn Garden City I
started to wonder about what it would be like if I was small! Don't ask why, it
happened!

It would be strange though if I was and started thinking what it would be like,
All the familar shops and buildings would be towering above me like a giant, All the cars would be large compared to me and be scary and overpowering.
Even the familiar shopping centre,
the lovely Howard Centre in the middle of the town would be like a greenhouse
filled with huge stands and people towering above me with booming voices.
I think this thought must of come to me either because I am a bit of a shortie,
or because I felt small today. what do you think? Feel free to set my mind at rest please!

Wishing for my Favourite Programme to be back!

As you know , I am passionate about disability issues but one thing that I enjoyed
finding out my disability issues from was cruelly axed by the BBC and was promptly
taken off the air in 1998. I am of course talking about my best favourite programme
then called " From the Edge". Anyone remember it?
You probably remember it like I do for having some great issues that the presenters
all talked about such as transport, holidays, and places of interest.

One best thing for me about the programme had to be seeing Mik my hero, be the action
man reporter and going to all different places and telling us about them in a funny way.
He always could interview people in a relaxed, informal way and he could always laugh
if the places were funny.

All the other presenters were good too and all seemed to know a lot about whatever issues
they covered. They also had comedy slots in the programme too which got made into comedy series
for BBC2. They were "The Alphabet Soup Show", "In Stitches with Daphne Doesgood".
Damon, my internet pal and phone-friend was the Assistant Producer and he told me that
he also worked on finding the disability issues for the show as well.
He thinks the same as me at bringing "From The Edge" back to the TV screen.
One fact I will give you though, did you know the title music was cleverly produced
by lovely Mik? There you go then, something you didn't know!
If anyone has videos of it or pictures of the show, please tell me as I would love to watch it again!

Went to a great launch party today and it was the launch of two great things, One
being some workbooks that can be used by young people with learning disabilities,
and the other being a website presentation with our personal experiences and much more
about the workbooks being turned into PDF documents for use by the above people mentioned.

The day was great and was held in the posh Diana Memorial Fund offices in County Hall, Westminister
near the London Eye and Big Ben.

The party was great and I felt humbled, proud, whatever you can say when something is really good!
to be part of it all with friends that I made when I did the Macintyre Care Focus and Advisory
Groups,because Macintyre Care and a lady called Kate Jackson started me on the road to
success three years ago today.

I have written about Macintyre Care before on this blog as being one of my favourite websites,
but now if you look on the site you can go into everything that was covered today at the launch
to see pictures of me, not forgetting Ajay who did the artwork cleverly, Ellen and her leisure story
and Kate's nice brother Paul telling us about his spare time.
I don't like one of the pictures of me but tell me what you think?

Animal Encounters and Media Meetings

Have you ever had a day where you get to go somewhere you've longed to go to?

That happened to me when in the first week in January I was invited by Damon,
the editor of my favourite website Ouch to come for a coffee.
I said yes and after my legendary Macintyre Care meeting,
I caught the tube to White City to meet Damon and Vaughan the assistant producer
I was very nervous but when I got there and sat waiting for them, I tried to calm down but it wasn't
easy. Well you would do the same thing wouldn't you?

Anyway, Damon and Vaughan found me in Reception and we went to a posh BBC teabar,
beside a central courtyard. My body felt weird because of my nerves but talking to them
made me feel better. I had a great time talking to them but the great part was that Damon has a guide dog
who is the sweetest guide dog you have ever seen called Liam.

While me and Damon were talking , Liam stared at me with great big eyes
and looked at me lovingly
while I was talking to Damon, Vaughan at this point had gone back to the office.
Most Ouch readers will kill me for saying this but I got a rucksack,

blue plastic mug and three mousemats which going

with the white mug I have at home, I have all four Ouch goodies! Ha! Ha!

I am the only person who has, but don't worry, I never boast about it!

Turned Up From Nowhere!

I got a shock today!

It all started when me and my friend charlotte walked down my road and my ex turned up out of the blue and walked past us! He gave me a massive shock and scared me senseless!

Then when me and my friend got back to the house , I found a note sticking out from my letterbox. I don't know why but reading the note upset me a bit because I didn't know what I was supposed to be feeling.

Ex boyfriends can sometimes be a bit annoying can't they?

I now feel like Bridget Jones where my ex is the bad boy Cleaver and any nice man is the nice Mr Darcy!

The worst part is that when me and Charlotte went into town , my ex just had to show up again.

Aaargh!

Most of them are either pinned to the walls of students or liked by us the general public who read magazines like Heat and OK to find out the latest gossip and those celebrities sometimes become role models to us.

I want to dedicate this post to my role model in life which as you might of guessed is Mik Scarlet.
Whenever I have felt bad about things that have worried or upset me , I've always thought about Mik and his positive attitude to life.
I have found that helps me a great deal because I know that he would
see life in a different way and show people that if you have a disability
you have the same rights as anyone else

Mik is also a great social role model for young people like me.

If I met him I would tell him that!

So Mik, If you're reading this, thanks for making me believe I could have a career in disability issues and for making me a better person!

A STRANGE WAY OF THINKING

Do you have a strange way of believing that spiritual things really do happen?

I been thinking about this after the bits in the Heaven and Earth show where
Julie Fernandez tries to teach Matt Allwright that such spiritualist things can happen and
to help Matt to become a better person in himself.

I bought a book recently which helps to develop your sixth sense and to discover what different things mean when you think about them. I've become interested in psychic powers a lot since my friend Chris told me that he was into it and showed me by believing he could make me see that spirits do exist. It was very scary and freaky at first but it got me interested in psychics, and to becoming like Matt Allwright to be a better person myself.

What's your views on this subject? Do you think that spirits and ghosts are real?

GETTING AHEAD IN THE DISABILITY FIELD!

Working for a disability charity as I do in Hertfordshire has made
me come to realise it gives you a sense of knowledge and compassion
to help all the customers and clients who pass through our doors
each and every week to buy a vital piece of equipment or to use our
services such as counselling, driving school etc.

Even our Mobile Easier Living Exhibition is a big hit
with staff, customers and clients!
Good old Ivanhoe he keeps our charity going by promoting us
widely!! It also helps me to understand disability issues and
networking with Damon from BBC Ouchgives me a sense of finding out more
disability issues.
That's where I would work in the future, fingers crossed!

BBC STAFF WALK OUT!!!!

What's your take on the latest news that most of the BBC were striking today?

I think I have to agree with all those who bravely fought to keep their jobs today
but I think Mark Thompson the Director General should have given staff some way by a way of compensation.

I kept thinking about workers from my favourite website BBC Ouch, which is an excellent site and they got caught up in it as well.

I wonder what they were thinking when they stood with the masses of workers?
